My
first pregnancy was uneventful up until delivery. There were a lot
of complications which resulted in an emergency c-section.
When I found out I was pregnant with Nathan, I had a horrible feeling
that something was wrong~right from the beginning. I asked my family
doctor for an u/s at 13 weeks and everything looked normal. At my
21 week routine u/s, the tech saw something suspicious and did an
transvaginal doppler and confirmed the Vasa Previa. I had a succenturiate
lobe and partial Placenta Previa.
I
was hospitalized at 32 weeks, but at 33 weeks a doctor other than
my own tried to have me discharged because he felt that I was 'taking
up a bed'. I fought to stay, AND WON!! Nathan Cole Hardy was born
by a scheduled c-section at 35 weeks 5 days on September 11, 2006
at 2:53pm weighing in at a whopping 6 lbs 3 oz and 21.5 inches long!!!!!!
Nathan spent 9 days in the NICU with minor complications and is a
happy, healthy little boy! We are so blessed to have a miracle baby.
Nathan just celebrated his 1st Birthday!!
